Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has urged President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action in fulfilling his election promises of addressing insecurity and hardship in Nigeria. Expressing the collective heartbreak and hopelessness of Nigerians, Mbaka specifically called on Tinubu to confront the influential figures in the nation’s petroleum sector.
In his statement, Mbaka asserted, “Mr. President, you can do it; to fix Nigeria is not difficult if the leader has the willpower. I know that this one will make national news but let it be. What is happening in the oil sector? How many barrels are being produced and how many dollars are in the Nigerian account?”
He raised concerns about Nigeria’s substantial oil exports and questioned the challenges in fixing refineries and dealing with the influential figures in the sector. Emphasizing the need for accountability, he challenged the president to dismantle the existing cabals if he possesses the willpower to do so.
Mbaka highlighted the grim reality faced by farmers, pointing out the threat posed by armed herdsmen. He stated, “We are asking people to go to the farm and produce; but if you enter the farm, herdsmen with AK-47s will enter the farm and kill the farmers, who will go to the farm anymore?”
In concluding his statement, Mbaka called for meaningful engagement for the populace, encouraging initiatives that would alleviate the looming hunger.
