Gunmen have attacked a police patrol van in the Ngbo-Effium area of Ohaukwu Local Government Area in Ebonyi State, resulting in the death of one officer and the injury of another.
The assailants engaged the police team in a gun duel before fleeing the scene.
The Ebonyi State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the attackers, and the Commissioner of Police, Augustina Ogbodo, dispatched tactical teams to the area.
The police have called on individuals to provide useful information that could lead to the arrest of the gunmen.
