Cameroon Striker Karl Toko Ekambi Retires After AFCON Exit

Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi, following his team’s elimination from the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast with a 0-2 loss to Nigeria, has declared his retirement from international football.

The striker expressed disappointment at the exit but commended his team’s efforts, stating, “A fourth chapter of the African Cup closes, the end of a story. Forever an indomitable Lion.”

Ekambi, 31, leaves the national team after scoring 14 goals in 60 appearances for the Lions.
