The Super Eagles will each pocket a whopping $30,000 after advancing past the group stage of the ongoing AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
The three-time African champions finished as runners-up in Group A with seven points from three matches, behind group winners Equatorial Guinea.
The previous arrangement was for each player to be paid a $5,000 match bonus all the way to the championship game.
However, a top official has now confirmed that this arrangement has since been jettisoned, with a lump sum payment for each round of the competition.
There is, therefore, an additional fixed bonus for the team after they advanced past Cameroon 2-0 in the AFCON Round of 16, and the same will apply for the quarterfinal against Angola on Friday.
These bonuses were included in the special budget for the AFCON approved by the Federal Government.
However, the players are yet to receive these bonuses.
