Bandits kidnapped Aondo Ver, a director in the Federal Housing Authority, Federal Capital Territory, in a brazen act of criminality around 12.30 a.m. on Thursday. The incident occurred about 200 meters from a military base in Pambara, which is located in Abuja’s Bwari Area Council.

The audacious bandits struck, firing indiscriminately and causing panic in the area before making their escape through the bushes with the abducted director. Residents, confirming the distressing development, revealed that the military base, known as ‘camp,’ was stationed about 200 meters from where the abduction occurred in Pambara Extension.

Among those targeted by the bandits were both serving and retired military personnel, along with civilians residing in the attacked area. A source disclosed, “Bandits attacked Pambara Extension over the night, at about 12:30 am today (Thursday), and they abducted one of our neighbours, Mr Aondo Ver, who is a Director in Federal Housing Authority, FCT.”

The unsettling part is that the attack transpired in close proximity to the military base at the entrance of Bwari, referred to as the ‘camp.’ Despite the presence of military personnel, the audacity of the bandits to carry out the abduction near the base has left residents in shock.

Another resident expressed their astonishment, stating, “The attack is still shocking to us. Our estate is very close to the military base here known as ‘camp’ at the entrance of Bwari, and there are also serving and retired military personnel living with us here, yet these bandits were bold enough to attack this place and kidnap Mr Ver.”
