Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has issued a strict ultimatum, declaring his intent to dismiss any commissioner or political appointee falling below the expected performance standards. The warning was issued on Tuesday following the signing of a performance bond by heads of ministries, departments, and agencies at the Government House in Dutse.

Governor Namadi emphasized that the performance bond aimed to instill dedication among officials in their respective roles. He outlined that quarterly and yearly assessments would be conducted to evaluate the appointees’ performances.

During the announcement, he stated, “Today, we will be signing an Executive Order and performance bonds to give effect to the performance measurement framework that we have instituted.” The Executive Order establishes a Results Delivery and Performance Management Coordination Unit under the Office of the Executive Governor, tasked with overseeing a performance measurement tracking system for effective results delivery.

Governor Namadi made it clear that any appointee found performing below the expected standard would face termination, reinforcing the commitment to uphold accountability and efficiency in governance.
