Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South senatorial district, has announced his intention to contest the Anambra state governorship position in 2025. Speaking at his Nnewi country home, Ubah expressed dissatisfaction with the current and past administrations’ development policies in the state, emphasizing the need for transformative leadership.

Ubah outlined his commitment to a single term, stating, “I don’t need more than four years to develop the state.” He criticized the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and pledged to bring a new approach to governance, promising a 20% reduction in government weight and simultaneous development across the 21 local governments.

The senator highlighted his distinctive plan, including conducting local government elections within four months of assuming office. Ubah emphasized his commitment to addressing insecurity and fostering a conducive environment for investment, pointing out that his children should feel secure coming home to Anambra.

Asserting his unique proposition, Ubah stated, “My people know me as one who sticks to his word.” He emphasized the importance of having assets in the state to be a true stakeholder and committed to contesting the election with a burning desire to change the development trajectory of Anambra.

Ubah’s manifesto focuses on creating support for commerce, developing the health sector as a hub for medical tourism, and accelerating community development through local government elections. He criticized the trend of voting for personalities with overly bloated structures and advocated for a shift towards leaders with passion and a proven track record.
