Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of two traditional rulers in the state on Monday. The victims, Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba Babatunde Ogunsola, were shot and killed by armed men during their return from a meeting.
The Alara of Ara-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, managed to escape the attack. Governor Oyebanji has instructed security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators, and security personnel have been dispatched to the area for this purpose.
The governor expressed condolences to the affected communities and urged calm, assuring that justice would prevail. During a state security council meeting just before the incident, the governor emphasized the commitment of his administration to ensuring the safety of residents by leveraging technology for crime prevention and supporting security agencies.
