The governorship hopeful for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo state, under the auspices of Labour Party (LP), Olumide Akpata has said the incumbent People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under the reigns of Godwin Obaseke, is at its lowest ebb, due largely to his under performance.

Akpata who described the ruling PDP in Edo state as a ‘’helicopter government’’ on The Morning Show  segment of Arise TV, bemoaned the sorry state of roads in the state, which has necessitated the governor to fly across the state in a helicopter.

He said the PDP lacks ideology and due diligence which formed the basis of his departure.

‘’Due diligence stops at what a party believes in, stops at its ideology and posturing. I was looking for a party that would help bring the people back into the equation. The Labour Party is the only party that is interested in the people and wants them to have a say in governance, that’s why I joined them.’’
