Mudashiru Olamide single-handedly secured a 2-0 triumph for Osun United against visiting FC One Rockets in Osogbo, breaking a concerning trend of drawn matches at home for the team.

Having faced disappointment in their previous two home games with drawn results, Osun United was under pressure to deliver a decisive win. Mudashiru’s second-half heroics, however, brought much-needed relief to the Omoluabi Giants as they head into the first-round break.

The turning point of the match occurred in the 53rd minute when the Kwara-born left-back showcased his goal-scoring prowess by expertly converting a free-kick. Mudashiru’s sublime performance reached its peak in the 89th minute when he once again utilized his set-piece skills to score, effectively sealing the victory for Osun United.

Delighted with his contribution, Mudashiru expressed his happiness about the crucial brace, acknowledging the positive impact it had on alleviating pressure within the team. He stated, “I am very happy about the goals. It was a great moment for my career, and I definitely want to score more to help my team.”

The talented left-back, who joined Osun United at the beginning of the new season following a stint with Benin Republic’s top side last season, has previously showcased his skills at Kwara United and ABS FC in Ilorin.

Looking ahead, Mudashiru emphasized the team’s overarching goal of qualifying for the NPFL, vowing to continue their hard work and dedication.
