Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has stated that the federal government is actively working to settle outstanding payments to power generation companies to address the declining electricity supply.

Adelabu mentioned that the blackout experienced in the country is primarily due to a low supply of gas to power-generating companies.

The payments are intended to improve gas supply and enhance power generation, enabling distribution companies to provide more electricity to Nigerians.

The minister acknowledged the current unsustainable situation and assured that efforts are underway to promptly address the nation’s electricity challenges.

The recent decrease in power supply has been attributed to reduced gas supply to generation companies.
