Police operatives in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) successfully rescued 14 kidnapped victims in a daring operation at a forest near Ukya village, situated on the border between Abuja and Nasarawa state.
The anti-kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters executed the operation based on credible intelligence.
A fierce gun battle erupted between the police and the kidnappers during the rescue, leading to the neutralization of one of the criminals.
All 14 hostages were safely rescued and have been reunited with their families.
The Commissioner of Police in the FCT, CP Haruna Garba, reiterated the commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the region, urging residents to report any suspicious activities through the provided emergency police hotlines.
