The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Patrick Tonye-Cole, has reacted to the Supreme Court’s dismissal of his appeal against the election of Governor Sim Fubara from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement, Tonye-Cole expressed gratitude fo the support during the legal process and acknowledged the temporary disappointment, emphasizing that it’s only a setback. He said, “The result today may be disappointing, but it is only temporary. We have so much to gain moving forward so weep for today only; tomorrow we stand again, hold up our heads, and forge on. Aluta continua.”

The APC governorship candidate had contested the election outcome, alleging Fubara’s failure to resign as the state’s Accountant General within the specified time frame. The Supreme Court’s ruling upheld Governor Fubara’s victory, deeming Tonye-Cole’s appeal without merit.
