Nigeria and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili achieved a clean sheet for the second time in the African Cup of Nations as the Super Eagles secured a 1-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau.

The towering goalkeeper, making his third start in the competition, lived up to expectations with his commanding presence between the posts, contributing to the team’s well-deserved win and maintaining a clean sheet.

Following their victory over the host nation, Ivory Coast, the Nigeria Super Eagles approached the Guinea-Bissau match with the aim of securing qualification in impressive fashion.

Guinea-Bissau’s Wild Dogs, who had failed to earn a point in the tournament with two consecutive losses, faced a challenging third game against the Nigeria Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Super Eagles, with minor changes in their lineup, began the game strongly, controlling possession. However, they struggled to assert dominance as Guinea-Bissau controlled the midfield, resulting in a goalless first half.

Returning for the second half, the Nigeria Super Eagles displayed more purpose, making several attempts on goal. Despite both teams scoring in the second half, all goals were disallowed, and Nigeria’s first-half goal secured the team’s victory and qualification from Group A.
