Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the Mangu Local Government Area due to escalating security concerns. The decision, confirmed in a Tuesday statement by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, comes after consultations with relevant security agencies.

Only individuals on essential duties are permitted to move within the local government area until further notice. Governor Mutfwang urged citizens, particularly Mangu residents, to comply with the directive and collaborate with security forces by providing reliable information to restore peace.

Expressing concern about persistent security threats, the governor noted ongoing government efforts to curb the activities of terrorist elements. He extended sympathy to victims’ families, emphasized the government’s commitment to lasting peace, and assured a review of the curfew once security improves.
