Lagos State Police apprehended an individual who tried to sell his company’s car to fund his family’s relocation to Ghana, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.

The arrest followed information received by the State Criminal Investigation Department on January 16 about a suspected stolen Toyota Hilux. Detectives traced the vehicle to Ilukogun village, situated on the border between Lagos State and Ogun, recovering it from a resident named Arthur Benjamin.

Benjamin confessed to stealing the vehicle from his workplace with plans to sell it and flee to Ghana with his family.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend any other members of his accomplice group.
