The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) plans to prohibit unpainted taxis and buses from operating on FCT roads, according to FCT Minister Mr. Nyesom Wike.

Addressing reporters in Abuja on Monday, the minister highlighted the aim of this initiative is to combat the issue of ‘one chance,’ where criminals pose as taxi drivers to rob, assault, or harm unsuspecting passengers.

While acknowledging a reduction in ‘one chance’ incidents, the minister emphasized the need for stricter measures to completely eliminate the trend in the FCT.

The forthcoming regulations will require commercial vehicles to be painted with FCT colors and registered by the FCTA, ensuring certified drivers and approved vehicles for passenger safety.
