The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, Ibrahim Huseini, has been suspended indefinitely following allegations of misappropriating N19 million from the party’s account and engaging in anti-party activities during the last gubernatorial election in November 2023.

In a letter dated January 21, 2024, the PDP Local Government Working Committee in Dekina accused Huseini of issuing threats to members and disrespecting established party protocols and institutions. The suspension comes after a vote of no confidence by majority executives at both local and ward levels.

The letter stated: “This decision stems from your mismanagement of party funds, open threats to executive members, and involvement in anti-party activities, particularly evident during the last presidential and state governorship elections in the state.”

Huseini is instructed to submit all party materials in his possession to the divisional secretary of the party. The suspension reflects the PDP’s commitment to upholding party principles and ensuring accountability within its ranks.
