Anthony Joshua is determined to establish himself as the top heavyweight in the UK when he faces Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on March 8.

Coming off a remarkable knockout win against Otto Wallin, the 34-year-old Brit is gearing up for a clash with 37-year-old Ngannou, who, in a controversial split decision, narrowly missed defeating WBC champion Tyson Fury in October.

While initially eyeing a showdown with Deontay Wilder, Joshua is now excited about the opportunity to face former UFC heavyweight star Ngannou after Wilder’s surprising loss to Joseph Parker.

Speaking at a launch press conference in London, Joshua expressed his anticipation for the challenge, stating, “I’ve encountered fighters like him [Ngannou] many times; it’s his mindset that I must conquer in the ring. Taking someone’s soul and spirit is what it’s about, and I’m eagerly anticipating the challenge. It’s going to be explosive, and there are various ways to approach it.”
