Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced that the entire Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway will be finished within 24 months. During an inspection of the Abuja-Kaduna section, Umahi, accompanied by Minister of Finance and Coordinating Economy Wale Edun, cited an agreement with the contractor, Julius Berger Construction Company, for the revised timeline.
The initial 36-month completion target, set by the Buhari government in 2018, faced delays due to funding constraints. Umahi assured the public of the government’s commitment to overcoming challenges and ensuring timely completion, mentioning that Julius Berger agreed to complete 15 kilometers daily under the new agreement.
