The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations. The registration window will be open from today until February 24, 2024. JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, assured a smooth process and highlighted measures, including an accreditation exercise for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers.
During a meeting with media executives in Lagos, Oloyede outlined the registration procedure, emphasizing that candidates must create a profile using the National Identity Number at various CBT centers. The use of JAMB USS codes 55019 or 66019 is required to generate the profile, with a warning against using multiple codes. The unique verification tool involves thumbprinting to complete the registration.
The registration fee is set at N3,500, and Oloyede emphasized that the payment will be cashless to prevent extortion. JAMB has accredited 747 CBT centers for the 2024 UTME, an increase of 134 from the previous year. Lagos has the highest number with 80 centers, followed by Ogun (44) and Oyo (42). Zamfara has the lowest count with 6 centers, while Ebonyi and Kebbi each have 8.
The South-West geopolitical zone boasts the highest number of CBT centers, totaling 226, while the North-East has the lowest with 67 centers.
