AFCON23: Nigeria Still Better Without Injured Players – Jose Peseiro

Head coach of the Nigeria super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has maintain that, his side is still strong despite losing some of his key players for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Cote D’Ivoire.

The Super Eagles preparation for the AFCON has been disrupted by injuries to some of the key stars, with the latest being Umar Sadiq.

Also recall that, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi pulled out of the squad due to injury, with Royal Antwerp’s Alhassan Yusuf replacing him.

Victor Boniface and Umar Sadiq was also ruled out of the competition, with Terem Moffi and Paul Onuachu replacing them.

But despite the setback, the Portuguese tactician who spoke at a press Congress in Abidjan on Saturday, believe there was still enough quality in his squad.

Nigeria will square up against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday for their group A opening match.
