The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Lagos State has called on Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhode-Viviour and PDP’s Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), candidates in the 2023 Governorship Election, to congratulate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Supreme Court’s unanimous decision on Friday upheld Sanwo-Olu as the duly elected governor of Lagos State, dismissing the appeals of Rhode-Vivour and Adediran for lacking merit and constituting a gross abuse of the court process.
In response, IPAC Chairman in Lagos State, Olusegun Mobolaji, emphasized that since the apex court has declared Sanwo-Olu as the rightful winner, both Adediran and Rhode-Viviour should celebrate with and congratulate the governor while awaiting any further electoral processes.
Mobolaji urged all election stakeholders, including INEC, security agencies, and the judiciary, to collaborate in enhancing Nigeria’s democracy.
