Bello Janbako, Director of the Centre for Research at the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State, has been kidnapped by bandits during an attack in Damba Gusau.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m., with bandits breaking into Janbako’s residence and engaging in a gun duel with security personnel attempting to thwart the abduction.
Unfortunately, the bandits overpowered the security forces, escaping to the forest with Janbako.
This follows a recent abduction of the Director of Finance in the state Ministry of Finance, Malam Sabiu, in the same area.
The region is experiencing heightened insecurity, leading residents to flee for safety.
