President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of a new board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC). Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the appointments, emphasizing that they are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
For NAHCON, the newly appointed board and management members include Mr. Jalal Arab as Chairman, and Aliu Abdulrazaq as Commissioner, Policy, Personnel, & Finance. Other appointees are Prince Anofi Elegushi, Commissioner, Operations, and Prof. Abubakar A. Yagawal, Commissioner, Planning & Research.
Additionally, eight new NAHCON zonal representatives were appointed: Dr. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi (North Central), Abba Jato Kala (North East), Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman (North West), Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe (South West), Aishat Obi Ahmed (South East), Zainab Musa (South South), Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio (Jama’atul Nasril Islam), and Prof. Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola (Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs).
In parallel, President Tinubu approved the appointment of nine board members for the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, with Col. Aloche Adole as Chairman and Dr. Stephen Adegbite as Secretary. Other appointees include representatives from various regions and religious bodies.
President Tinubu urged the newly appointed members to view their roles as an opportunity to serve the nation and encouraged them to dedicate themselves to this significant purpose.
