The Secretary of Education Secretariat, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Dr Danlami Hayyo, has said the current administration of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has accorded top priority to education and appealed to stakeholders to join hands in ensuring success in the sector.

He equally threatened to sanction principals and school administrators recording low enrolment of pupils in public schools.

Hayyo spoke in Abuja when he led the management team of the secretariat for the 2024 second term resumption visitation and inspection to selected schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, low enrolment of students would be taken to mean failure on the part of the school authorities.

He added that if teachers and other staff members were dedicated and committed to their duties in providing quality training and care for students, there would be no reason parents would withdraw or not enroll their wards in public schools.

Hayyo, who however, expressed satisfaction with the level of turnout of students in the schools visited, said the administration would not take it likely with any school found to record low student turn out.
