Shaykh Abdul-Afis Aṣamu Abou, the Baba Adinni of Lagos and chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque, passed away at the age of 101 on Tuesday night.
His Janazah (burial) is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, at 2 pm at the Lagos Central Mosque.
Shaykh Abou played a key role in reclaiming the land of the mosque at Dodan Barracks.
Condolences have poured in, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praising his legacy of service, duty, and sacrifice.
Also, Senator Idiat Adebule described him as a thoroughbred scholar and an embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and good character.
