Governor Yahaya Bello has taken decisive actions by dissolving his entire cabinet and appointing caretaker chairmen to lead the 21 local government councils in the state. This significant reshuffle, announced recently, aims to usher in a new phase of governance and administrative efficiency in Kogi State.

Additionally, the Governor has deposed the Ohimege Igu, the paramount ruler of Koton Karfe, alongside two other first-class chiefs. To fill these vacant traditional leadership positions, Governor Bello has appointed the Ohinoyi of Ebira land and the Maigari of Lokoja.

The dissolution of the cabinet signals Governor Bello’s commitment to restructuring the state’s administrative machinery, ensuring a fresh perspective and renewed focus on the development agenda. The appointment of caretaker chairmen for the local government councils reflects a strategic move to enhance grassroots governance and address the evolving needs of the communities.
