The Plateau State Police Command has clamped down on the recent plateau killings, arresting eight suspects in connection with killings in the villages of Bokkos and Barkin Ladi.
As the death toll rises, over 150 people were confirmed dead in the incidents while many houses were torched. The ugly incident which occurred during the eve of Christmas had its worse hit on over 23 villages in Bokkos.
DSP Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, disclosed the arrests in Jos on Friday, stating that efforts were underway to apprehend more suspects.
Security agencies including, Army, Air Force, Navy and the police had after the killings vowed to bring an end to the attacks and reprisal attacks between farming communities and pastoralists.
However, despite the deployment of security agencies in the affected communities, Abuja City Journal has got of more unreported killings in the flashpoint areas.
