The Bank of Industry (BOI) has been honored with two prestigious awards at the recently concluded Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS CSR Awards). The accolades include the ‘Best Company in Financial Inclusion’ and the ‘Most Effective MDA/Parastatal in Sustainable Development.’

The recognition underscores BOI’s dedication to championing sustainable development by supporting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through its Interventions platform. The bank has played a pivotal role in initiatives like NG Cares, MSME Survival Fund, and the State Enterprise Empowerment Programme (SEEP).

Dr. Olasupo Olusi, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of BOI, expressed his thoughts on this significant achievement, stating, “This recognition is a testament to the Bank’s commitment to supporting the growth of MSMEs and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria. We remain committed to employing sustainable business practices in our operations in line with our strategic objectives.”

BOI’s consistent efforts in promoting sustainable practices have not gone unnoticed, as the SERAS CSR Awards aim to showcase and harmonize contributions from the private sector, government/public sector, and non-governmental organizations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa.

This isn’t the first time BOI has been celebrated at the SERAS CSR Awards; the bank received the ‘Best Company in Financial Inclusion’ and the ‘Best New Entry’ Awards in 2021. In 2022, BOI also secured the ‘Best Company in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ award, further solidifying its commitment to responsible business practices and sustainable development.
