Seplat Energy Plc, a prominent Nigerian independent energy company, has officially announced the mechanical completion of its ANOH gas plant installation on December 29, 2023. The completion aligns with the revised timetable and is marked by an impressive safety record, with no recordable Lost Time Incidents (LTI) across 11 million-man hours.

The ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), a joint venture between Seplat Energy and NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) Ltd, has successfully delivered the ANOH gas plant with a Phase One processing capacity of 300mmscfd. The plant is expected to provide dry gas, condensate, and LPG to customers upon the commencement of operations. AGPC aims to sell gas and LPG domestically and export condensates to the international market.

Key milestones leading to the first gas, as outlined in the company’s Interim Results announcement, include the drilling and hook-up of upstream wells and the completion of essential third-party infrastructure, including the OB3 pipeline river crossing and Spur Line connecting OB3 to the gas plant.

The completion of the fourth and final well (ASSN-06), planned ahead of the first gas, has been accomplished by the upstream unit operator, SPDC.

Roger Brown, CEO of Seplat Energy, emphasized the significance of the ANOH project, stating, “ANOH is an important strategic project for Seplat; it will roughly double our gas production, and we are focused on the path to first gas. Once completed, ANOH will provide two income streams for Seplat: wet gas sales from OML 53 to the gas plant and dividends from the joint venture ANOH Gas Processing Company, which will operate the plant.”

The company now anticipates the completion of necessary pre-commissioning activities and essential third-party infrastructure to enable the commissioning of the gas plant and the commencement of operations, with the guidance for the first gas remaining unchanged.
