Senator Shehu Sani, a human rights activist, author, and Pan Africanist, has emphatically refuted widespread rumors about a proposed increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N1200 per litre by oil marketers and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). Sani, recognized for his advocacy activities, addressed the topic on Twitter under the handle @ShehuSani, emphasizing the potentially disastrous effects for the already burdened masses.
The Human Rights Activist stated, “Neither the oil marketers nor the NNPC proposed any increase of pump price to N1200 per litre. Those peddling this rumor should stop so as not to cause unnecessary panic, disruptions, and further hardships and suffering.”
Sani’s intervention seeks to quell the escalating concerns and anxieties among the public regarding the speculated fuel price surge. The activist underscores the importance of dispelling such misinformation to prevent unwarranted panic and to avoid exacerbating the existing challenges faced by the populace.
