The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has been named Africa’s finest agricultural university, ranking seventh in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024.
This notable recognition comes as a result of a revamped evaluation methodology, which scrutinized 2,671 entries from 1,906 universities spanning across 108 countries and regions.
Professor Babatunde Kehinde, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, extended hearty congratulations to the university community for this remarkable feat. He underlined the significance of collaborative efforts in achieving such significant milestones, emphasizing the university’s commitment to excellence in the field of agriculture.
The recent accomplishment follows FUNAAB’s notable achievement in the 2023 Sub-Saharan Africa University rankings, where the institution secured the 2nd position in Nigeria. The successive recognition underscores FUNAAB’s consistent dedication to academic excellence and its pivotal role in advancing agricultural education and research on both national and global scales.
