The Senate has given its approval to the 2024 appropriation bill, amounting to N28.7 trillion, during the plenary session held on Saturday.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured the Nigerian public that the bill will promptly be sent to President Bola Tinubu for the final enactment into law. This follows President Tinubu’s presentation of the 2024 budget estimates, totaling N27.5 trillion, to the National Assembly in late November.

Named the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope,’ the President outlined its objectives, including fostering micro-economic stability, reducing poverty, and improving access to social security.

Akpabio reiterated the commitment to swiftly transmit the bill to the President for expedited passage into law, with the aim of its implementation starting on January 1, 2024.
