The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has granted approval for Nigerians with expired passports to return home for the yuletide without hindrance.
The NIS instructed that these individuals be admitted into the country with their expired passports and urged airlines to allow boarding for such passengers.
Embassies and High Commissions were advised to publicize this directive, and entry/exit points were directed to open help desks for expedited passport reissuance within two weeks.
