The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) began the distribution of relief items on Wednesday in a sympathetic response to the misery of flood victims in the Adamawa neighborhood. NEMA released this information on its official X page, along with photographs of the relief operation.

The caption accompanying the photos read, “Officials of NEMA Yola Operations office flagged off the distribution of relief materials to victims of the 2023 floods disaster in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei federal constituency of Adamawa State.

“The Head of NEMA Yola Operations office, represented at the flag-off by Yusuf Ibbi (PSARO) at Bye Pass Primary School in Yola North, stated that the gesture reflects the federal government’s commitment to providing succor to the affected people. He emphasized that the items distributed are intended to alleviate the impact of their suffering rather than compensation for their losses.

“Hon. Abubakar Baba Zango, the representative of the constituency, expressed appreciation to NEMA for the kind gesture. He was represented by Usman Mohammed, a Legislative Assistant, who urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the items provided. The distribution event was witnessed by various relevant stakeholders.”
