The Mountain Top University in Ogun State is set to produce 36 first-class graduates during its fifth Convocation on Thursday, as announced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Elijah Ayolabi during a press briefing on Monday. The total number of graduates for this convocation is 348, with 329 receiving first degrees, two earning PhDs, one obtaining an MPhil degree, 15 completing Master’s degrees, and one achieving a postgraduate diploma.
Prof. Ayolabi emphasized the university’s dedication to ensuring that the degrees awarded go to the best and brightest students. The convocation lecture, titled ‘Optimising your potential in a challenging future,’ will be delivered by the Former Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom.
Ayolabi shared the significance of the year’s convocation and the university’s commitments to providing seamless uninterrupted academic progress
He said, “This convocation is significant in many ways but the most important is that it marks the fifth time the university will be graduating students through uninterrupted academic programs since the inception of the university in 2015. It is a watershed which underscores the university’s commitment to providing excellent education through hard work, dedication, commitment and inclination to success.”
“At the inception of this university, one of the cardinal objectives was to ensure seamless, uninterrupted academic progress in the university.
“I am happy to announce to you that the university has not failed in that regard. Every year, students who meet the requirements for graduation and successfully complete their academic requirements pass out from this university in flying colours. This is part of our commitment and we will pursue it vigorously to maintain our reputation as a university of excellence in Nigeria and in the world at large.”
