Kidnappers have contacted the family of Ibrahim Oricha, along with 22 others abducted a week ago in Dei Dei town, Bwari Area of the Federal Capital Territory. Demanding a ransom of N5m, the kidnappers threatened to harm Ibrahim if the payment wasn’t made, citing their tradition.

Ibrahim’s sister, Rashidat Oricha, expressed desperation as orphans with no support to raise the ransom, initially set at N40m. The family, still soliciting funds, faces challenges despite promises of assistance.

FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident but provided no details on the investigation’s progress. In response to rising kidnapping concerns in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police Command emphasized its commitment to enhancing security measures, deploying strategies to prevent incidents during the Yuletide season. Residents were urged to cooperate with law enforcement for enhanced security.
