During the Graduation and Presentation Ceremony of the Leadership Enhancement and Development Program (LEAD-P) batch 2 participants in Abuja, Vice President Kasim Shettima and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume expressed admiration for the program’s positive impact on rejuvenating Nigeria’s civil service. The LEAD-P initiative, spearheaded by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, received accolades as a crucial step in addressing persistent challenges within the civil service.
Vice President Shettima, acknowledging the significance of LEAD-P, emphasized its potential to bring about a transformative shift in the Nigerian civil service. He described the program as a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to enhance the public service, expressing optimism about the positive changes it would instigate.
“This marks a further turning point in the fortunes of the public service and the civil service in Nigeria and the astute work that has been done that continues to be done in requisitioning the service. I assure you that it’s a new dawn,” remarked Vice President Shettima, conveying confidence in the program’s ability to usher in a new era for the civil service.
Shettima underscored the dynamic challenges faced by leadership in contemporary complex systems and commended the LEAD-P graduates for undergoing rigorous training.
