Released in March 2023 as a lead single for Odumodu’s mixtape “Eziokwu,” the track achieved significant commercial success, reaching the No. 1 spot on Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 and Spotify Nigeria Top 50.
Named after Arsenal FC and England midfielder Declan Rice, the single reached No. 8 on TurnTable Top 100 and clinched the Best Rap Single at the 2023 Headies Award.
With over 16 million Spotify streams, “Declan Rice” received endorsements from both Declan Rice himself and Arsenal Football Club, who even had a special version recorded for the unveiling of their priciest signing.
