Heung-Min Son has called on Tottenham to cultivate a winning mentality following their comprehensive victory over Newcastle.

Despite taking the lead in each of their previous five matches, Spurs only managed to secure one point. The 31-year-old forward expressed his delight at getting back on the winning track as Tottenham closed the gap to five points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Son said, “When you’re winning, you enjoy it more. To bounce back like that is very important. We don’t want to make any more mistakes like we have done. I thought today was fantastic.”

He emphasized the need for Tottenham to be more ruthless, praising the team’s performance in creating chances and achieving a 4-1 victory over a strong Newcastle side. Son urged the team to continue performing at this level, stating, “It should be a habit for us. If we continue to be strong like this, we will be a very good side.”

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance on both ends of the field. He commended the players for their effort and brightness in the front third, highlighting Son’s excellent contribution. Postecoglou acknowledged the importance of leaders taking initiative and noted the team’s improvement in both attacking and defensive play.

As players return from injury, Postecoglou is optimistic about the team’s progress and stressed the relentlessness of the Premier League. He concluded, “The Premier League is unrelenting — the other teams aren’t going to feel sorry for you.”
