In a harrowing account, Mr. Samuel Soyemi has shared the chilling details of an incident where individuals claiming to be police officers from Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos State invaded his home in the Osiele area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Soyemi recounts that, on the night of October 10, at around 11 p.m., armed men stormed his residence, accusing him of being a ritualist and cultist—a claim he vehemently denies. Describing the incident as both an abduction and armed robbery, Soyemi reveals that the perpetrators forced him, his wife, and other family members into a vehicle after allegedly transferring N1,025,000 from his account.

The unsuspecting victims were driven to the premises of the Ifo Police Station, where they were allegedly pressured to pay a sum of N10 million to secure their release. Shockingly, without any formal documentation, Soyemi claims that the fake police officers successfully transferred money from his bank account into an Opay account.

Soyemi, deeply affected by the traumatic event, asserts that he and his family are enduring immense hardship, having lost valuables totaling almost N3 million, including phones and jewelry. Seeking justice, he has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to intervene.

His lawyer, Kayode Aderemi, has submitted a petition to the office of IGP Egbetokun, detailing the alleged crimes. A copy of the petition has also been sent to the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, on November 30.

The petition outlines a horrifying account of seven armed men invading Soyemi’s residence, seizing valuables worth over N2 million and extorting N1,025,000 from him. The victims were reportedly taken to the Ifo Police Station without any formal charges against them.

This shocking revelation raises concerns about the safety and security of citizens and underscores the importance of a thorough investigation into the alleged misconduct by those posing as law enforcement officers.

As the plea for justice resonates, the affected family awaits a response from the appropriate authorities, hoping for a swift resolution to this distressing incident.
