The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has called on Nigerians to express gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices made by personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces and their families in securing the nation. Speaking at the Christmas Carol organized by the Naval Officers’ Wives Association in Abuja on Sunday night, Ogalla emphasized the importance of acknowledging the efforts of military personnel and their families.
He highlighted the critical role played by spouses and families in supporting military personnel, enabling them to perform their duties effectively during various operations. Ogalla expressed deep respect and gratitude for the service and selfless commitment of naval personnel to the nation.
The Chief of Naval Staff recognized the welfare efforts of organizations such as the Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), and the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA). He emphasized the positive impact of these initiatives in boosting the morale of Armed Forces personnel during deployments.
In addition to appreciating the military community’s collective spirit, Ogalla encouraged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of giving, kindness, compassion, and reflection during the festive season. He expressed the significance of NOWA’s Christmas Carol and Night of Nine Lessons in fostering a sense of community and capturing the essence of the holiday season.
