The Department of State Services (DSS) is set to reveal a new chapter in its capabilities, with plans to showcase weapons manufactured by its personnel, as announced by the Director General, Yusuf Bichi. The disclosure was made during the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16 participants in Abuja.
DG Bichi outlined the agency’s commitment to a self-sufficient approach, stating that the DSS aims to “produce what it eats and eat what it produces.” Among the upcoming unveilings are weapons, with a notable mention of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
This initiative signals a strategic move towards enhancing the agency’s technological capabilities and reducing reliance on external sources for security equipment. Bichi emphasized that this step aligns with the agency’s vision for self-sustainability.
In addition to the technological advancements, Bichi assured continued support for the National Institute for Security Studies, emphasizing the importance of imparting knowledge that strengthens the nation’s security. He urged the EIMC 16 graduates to apply their acquired skills to contribute to the development of the country.
Furthermore, the DSS Director General called on Nigerians to embrace patriotism and reject warmongers who seek to destabilize the nation. His message highlighted the need for unity and collective efforts to ensure the country’s stability and progress.
