The Ogun State Government has declared a N50 million reward for individuals who provide information leading to the arrest of the killers of its Director of Finance and Administration, Taiwo Oyekanmi. Oyekanmi, an accountant in the governor’s office, was fatally attacked on November 29 during a robbery targeting a bullion van carrying government funds in Abeokuta.

The announcement, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, assures the public that any information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. The government has urged individuals with relevant details to contact specified telephone numbers for reporting: 08037441955, 08033074371, 08081775020, 08034062773, and 08032136765.

Despite the governor’s directive to security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators, no arrests have been made more than a week after the incident. Concerns have been raised as police roadblocks have been set up in various locations, causing public unease. The bounty is a proactive measure taken by the Ogun State Government to encourage citizens to come forward with crucial information that could aid in solving the case.
