Nigerian singer Opeyemi Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, recently shared his earnest desire to reunite with his former record label, YBNL Nation.
During an engaging session on the Ginger Yourself Podcast, Lyta clarified that his departure from YBNL was not a deliberate move on his part.
He conveyed, “I truly want to return to YBNL; what happened back then [leaving YBNL Nation] wasn’t intentional. I didn’t receive any communication from Olamide before leaving, and after I departed, communication just ceased. However, we’ve talked since my departure. I messaged him on his birthday via Instagram, and he responded.”
When questioned about Olamide’s Instagram activity, the ‘Monalisa’ artist revealed, “No, he isn’t following anyone on Instagram.”
Recalling Lyta’s exit from YBNL Nation in 2019 amid differences with the label’s founder, Olamide, it’s noteworthy that the artist disclosed in a 2022 interview that he parted ways with the label due to hearsay from friends and industry acquaintances.
He admitted, “I heard a lot of things from friends and people in the industry. I didn’t know who or what to believe, and eventually, some people got into my head.”
Lyta’s expressed desire to reconcile with YBNL suggests a potential reunion with Olamide and a return to the label where his musical journey initially took flight.
