Davido Responds to Backlash Over COP28 Delegation

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded to the public criticism surrounding the presence of actress Toke Makinwa and others at the ongoing COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The controversy stems from the large Nigerian delegation, comprising 1411 individuals, attending COP-28, with a particular focus on media personality Toke Makinwa’s participation, drawing widespread disapproval on social media.

Davido addressed the situation by highlighting the apprehension faced by any Nigerian in Dubai for leisure, suggesting they might be hesitant to share their experiences on social media due to potential backlash.

In a post on his Instagram handle, Davido expressed amusement at the level of reaction triggered by Nigeria’s delegate list, finding the situation humorous while affirming his appreciation for it. He wrote, “So person wey just really go flex for Dubai now on him own no fit post. Sh*t funny AF … I love it.”
