Ten directors from various departments of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have officially retired, marking the end of their service upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 or completing 35 years of service.

During the retirement send-off ceremony in Abuja on Sunday, INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Mohammed Adams, extended his congratulations to the retiring directors. In his address, he emphasized that retirement should be seen as the commencement of a new journey rather than the end of the road.

“As you retire, focus on the future and don’t dwell on the past. This marks the beginning of another chapter in your lives, given your professionalism in your respective fields,” remarked Prof. Adams. He encouraged the retirees to channel their expertise into meaningful pursuits during their retirement years.

Adams further advised the active-duty personnel not to fear retirement but rather to discover and cultivate their strengths in any role they undertake during this phase of life.
