Apprentice Allegedly Beaten to Death by Carpenter in Delta

In a tragic incident along New Ogorode Road in the Sapele Area of Delta State, a carpenter is accused of beating his apprentice, identified as Onome, to death for allegedly arriving late to work. The suspect also leveled an accusation of stealing his ATM card against the late apprentice.

According to sources, the apprentice, Onome, returned home after work, complaining to his parents about not feeling well and narrating the alleged assault by his employer. In a shocking turn of events, before arrangements could be concluded to take him to the hospital, Onome passed away. Upon hearing the news, the workshop owner reportedly fled.

The incident was reported to the Police in Sapele, and a police source from the state command confirmed the ongoing investigation, assuring that efforts were being made to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

As of the time of reporting, attempts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, for comment were unsuccessful.
