River APC Sets Course for Renewal with Inauguration of Caretaker Committee

The inauguration of the Caretaker Committee represented a watershed event for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in River State on Friday.

The event took place at the party’s secretariat, emphasizing the strategic importance of addressing internal party affairs.

The event was attended by National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, other NWC members, and newly appointed Caretaker Committee members from River State. The National Vice Chairman South South, Party Spokesperson Felix Moka, the Chancellor, National Treasurer, National Auditor, and the Chief of Staff were among those in attendance.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday inaugurated the Rivers State Caretaker Committee in the presence of notable dignitaries, including NWC members, and the newly appointed committee members from the State.

The ceremony commenced with the introduction of distinguished guests and the members of the Caretaker Committee, led by Mr. Tony C Okocha. Chief Eric Nwibani assumed the role of secretary, while Hon Chibuike Ikenga was introduced as the spokesperson. Other committee members sworn in included Prince Stephen Abolo, Hon Sylvester Bidin, Senibo Karibi Dan-jumbo, and Miss Darling Amadi.

Deputy Legal Adviser to the party administered the oath, after which the newly appointed members were charged by the National Chairman. The charge emphasized the imperative to reconcile party members who had departed due to factions and encouraged the welcoming of new members. The National Chairman urged the Committee to see themselves solely as APC members, emphasizing the need to build a robust party foundation to secure a gubernatorial win in the next election.

Expressing confidence in the Committee’s capabilities, the National Chairman articulated, “We are confident in you, and we expect you to reform yourselves.” The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee echoed this sentiment, assuring positive changes within the party system in River State. He declared an end to the days of factionalism within the APC in the state, pledging to usher in a new chapter for the party.

The meeting concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem and a group photograph outside the National Secretariat, symbolizing a unified front and a collective commitment to ushering in a rejuvenated era for the APC in River State.
